Equitable Discipline with RCD
Equitable Discipline with RCD
Friday, October 2
11:30 AM - 1:30 pM ET
Presented by: Larry Thompson, M.Ed. & Brian Dinkins, Ed.D.
In today’s highly-charged social environment, many school leaders are asking how to ensure equitable discipline procedures for all students. Now, more than ever, schools must work to address bias and to reduce suspensions and referrals.
On Friday, October 2, RCD Creator Larry Thompson, M.Ed. and RCD Master Trainer and former principal Brian Dinkins, Ed.D. will share specific strategies on how to incorporate a consistent, equitable and easy-to-document approach to discipline. Using the RCD framework, school leaders will see how all students can be treated with respect and dignity while maintaining a productive learning environment.
Designed for educators who are implementing RCD or who have attended an RCD or Defiant Students training sessions, this 2-hour Virtual RCD Leadership Institute will feature a one-hour session with Larry Thompson and Brian Dinkins. It will also feature a Q&A session addressing struggles with student discipline and classroom management.
After attending this session, attendees will be able to:
- Follow a consistent discipline approach with all students
- Use RCD principles to address defiance and disruption
- Avoid the appearance of bias in discipline practices
